Moccasin Care

Moccasins should be cleaned and conditioned periodically to enable the leather to breathe. We recommend the use of Carl Dyer’s Special Blend Oil, which is compatible with our custom tanning process. Use of the oil will darken the color of the moccasins (most noticeable on the buffalo). Oil should be used only on finished leather; It should not be used on the split leather parts of the moccasins. One 8oz. can of oil and full instructions for the break-in and care of our moccasins accompany every pair.

Fit

When you receive your moccasins, try them on with the weight sock you intend to wear them with. Lace them up and leave them on your feet a little while. We generally recommend that your longest toe be 1/4″ behind the toe stitches on the moccasins but they’re your feet and your moccasins and they must be comfortable to you. The moccasins may feel a little stiff at first, that’s okay (remember we said “a little”), but they should not be painfully tight. If they hurt, they are not the correct size
